About Us

Children’s Asthma and Lung Center is equipped to perform a variety of procedures necessary to evaluate and treat children’s lung conditions.

Pulmonary Function Test (PFT)

A Pulmonary Function Test, or PFT, is a non-invasive procedure that measures how well the lungs are working. This test assesses lung capacity, airflow, and gas exchange, helping our specialists diagnose conditions such as asthma, chronic bronchitis, and cystic fibrosis. During the test, your child will be asked to breathe into a mouthpiece connected to a machine that measures various aspects of lung function.

Exercise Challenge Test

For children experiencing exercise-induced respiratory symptoms, an Exercise Challenge Test may be recommended. This test evaluates how exercise affects lung function and helps diagnose conditions such as exercise-induced asthma. Your child will be monitored closely while engaging in physical activity to assess for any changes in breathing patterns or lung function.

WE PROVIDE PREMIUM CARE FOR PATIENTS, ADVANCED EXAMINATIONS AND TREATMENT

Bronchoscopy

Bronchoscopy is a diagnostic procedure that allows our specialists to visualize the airways and lungs. This procedure may be recommended if other tests are inconclusive or if further evaluation is needed. During a bronchoscopy, a thin, flexible tube with a camera is inserted through the nose or mouth into the airways, providing real-time images of the respiratory system.

Chest X-ray

A Chest X-ray is a common imaging test that provides detailed images of the chest area, including the lungs and surrounding structures. This test may be used to diagnose conditions such as pneumonia, bronchitis, and lung tumors. Chest X-rays are safe and painless, and they play a crucial role in evaluating respiratory health in children.

Blood Allergy Testing

For children with suspected allergies triggering respiratory symptoms, Blood Allergy Testing may be recommended. This test measures the presence of specific antibodies in the blood that react to common allergens such as pollen, dust mites, and pet dander. Identifying allergens can help develop personalized treatment plans to manage symptoms and improve quality of life.

Synagis Administration

Synagis is a medication used to prevent respiratory syncytial virus (RSV) infections in high-risk infants and young children. Our center offers Synagis Administration services to eligible patients during the RSV season. This preventive measure can reduce the risk of severe respiratory illness in vulnerable children, providing peace of mind for families during the winter months.
